IPL 2020: Full Schedule/Fixtures, Timings, Venues of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)

Kings XI Punjab is one of the three teams, who are still due to win their maiden IPL trophy. There is no doubt that they are looked upon as one of the underdogs of the cash-rich league. In their first season of the tournament, they astonished the majority of the fans as they managed to qualify for the playoffs.

However, the fans had to wait for the next five seasons for the Punjab-based franchise to roll out their best ever IPL season. In 2014, KXIP managed to reach finals but failed to lift their maiden trophy as they lost the crucial game to Kolkata Knight Riders in the last over of a thrilling final.

In the last couple of seasons, KXIP got off to a great start to their tournament. But, they failed to end it on a high note as the Punjab-based franchise often tends to choke in crucial situations. However, with a brand new season on the line, KXIP will look to turn their fortunes to good by giving their best shot after they making some interesting recruitments in the IPL 2020 Auction.

KXIP to kick off their IPL 2020 campaign against Delhi Capitals 

As per the released fixtures, Punjab will begin their season campaign with an away game against Delhi Capitals on March 30 followed by their two consecutive home matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians on 4th and 8th April respectively.

Post that, they are lined up against former IPL champions Chennai Super Kings on April 11. In the same week, they will host the same opponent on April 17 after playing a home match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 14.

Later on, they will head for an away match against the defending champions Mumbai Indians. It is going to be hectic week as they will then have to travel East for a clash with Kolkata Knight Riders before hosting them in the next game in Mohali on April 26.

Three days after hosting KKR they are will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals for the first time in IPL 2020 on April 29 in an away game. With cricket fever on a hipe, they will get some relief from their hectic IPL schedule for about three days before coming face to face against RCB in Bengaluru.

The fans will cherish their favourite team back in their home ground after a span of 12 days for the match with 2008 IPL winners Rajasthan Royals on May 8. Punjab’s last away game is scheduled on 12th of May against Sunrisers Hyderabad. But the KL Rahul-led side will end their group stage stint back on their home ground hosting a team against which they opened their IPL 2020 campaign– Delhi Capitals.

As per the schedule, KXIP  will play two-afternoon games (4:00 pm) in IPL 2020 that they will play against Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore on 26th and 3rd May respectively.
