The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) provides a lot of entertainment to the fans. Different players come up with interesting celebrations as well and one of them was Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag‘s Bihu dance after claiming victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
It is the Assamese folk dance and Parag tapping his feet was natural as he is from Assam. However, the fans were surprised to see Jofra Archer attempting Bihu dance after picking up a wicket during the match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday.

Bowling the first over of the innings, Archer castled Prithvi Shaw of the opening delivery and was delighted. While celebrating the moment with his teammates, he copied Riyan Parag’s Bihu dance and left his teammates in splits. However, soon after his dance, the Indian fans, especially from Assam, Jharkhand and Tripura, felt they should know more about the England pacer.
“Where is Jofra Archer from?” “What is Archer’s home country” were the top searches on Google in India as the fans seemed interested to know about the pace bowler and his career. For the unversed, Jofra Archer was born in Barbados but shifted his base to UK a few years ago due to lack of opportunities in the sport. He is playing international cricket for England since last year and also played a crucial role in them winning the World Cup.
Jofra Archer’s impressive performance
Jofra Archer bowled extremely well in the game against the Capitals the other day and returned with the figures of 3/19 in his four overs. Apart from Shaw, he also picked crucial wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Marcus Stoinis. He is also at the second place in the list of highest wicket-takers with 12 wickets to his name in 8 matches.
However, his performances are not resulting in team’s victories as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) have lost five matches after playing eight. They are languishing at the seventh place in the points table and have no option but to up their game now to have any chance of making it to the playoffs.
