Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollard has been one of the most significant figures in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has provided substantial strength to the Mumbai Indians (MI) lot for so many years now. Though Pollard hasn’t been at his brutal best like he used to be in his earlier years, MI still believes in his capabilities completely.
The man has always fetched in some match-winning innings and that too when team was struggling under pressure. In the second match of MI against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Pollard became the first player from Mumbai to feature in 150 IPL matches. To honour the all-rounder for his feat, he was presented with a special team jersey by the top officials of the franchise.
On Friday night, MI posted a video of the same event on their official Twitter handle, and it became even special when the owner of the Mumbai franchise, Nita Ambani, called Pollard to congratulate him on his achievement. Mumbai Indians tweeted- “Video camera From the #MI Dressing Room: Mrs. Nita Ambani dialed in to congratulate Polly on his 150th @IPL appearance for MI.”

During the call, some officials from MI and Zaheer Khan were present. Now, Hardik Pandya is yet to show up with a ball in IPL 2020 after coming back from an injury. Pollard is in for the team and is expected to produce some all-round performances as he has shown some great form in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Mumbai franchise roped in Kieron Pollard in the year 2010, and his journey with them has been amazing so far. He was the most expensive player in the 2010 auction, along with Shane Bond as Mumbai took him for a whopping Rs 4.8 crore. MI coach Mahela Jayawardene also recently lauded the all-rounder for his efforts.
“Polly is someone that everyone looks up to. He plays with a lot of passion, and you see that with him whichever franchise he plays for, but he has that soft spot for MI being here for a long time,” said Mahela as quoted by Times Now.
