Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) locked horns for the first time on Tuesday in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The four-time champions finally managed to break their losing streak against the Royals which started in the 2018 season defeating them by 57 runs. Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah were the main architects of the win for MI in the game.

However, without doing much, all-rounder Krunal Pandya is trending since Tuesday evening and the reason for the same is as hilarious as it can get. MI promoted the southpaw to bat ahead of Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard after they were reduced to 90/3 in the 12th over. But the move didn’t reap rich rewards as Krunal scored only 12 runs off 17 deliveries with a six to his name.

The left-hander tried his best to up the ante but it wasn’t his day and couldn’t replicate his 4-ball 20* which he scored against SRH. Rather while playing without helmet, his facial expressions have gone viral now and the social media gimmicks have turned it into a meme-fest.

While facing the spinner, during his painstaking knock, Krunal Pandya made an irritating face and it seemed as if he wasn’t happy with the way he was batting in the middle. However, it was enough for social media with Kieron Pollard’s one of earlier expressions and even a few more hilarious memes came to the fore to leave the fans in splits.

A bad day at the office for Krunal Pandya

Though MI won comfortably, it was a bad day at the office for Krunal Pandya who couldn’t even contribute with the ball. After scoring only 12 runs with the ball, the left-arm spinner was expected to make amends while defending the total. But Jos Buttler took a special liking to him and he ended up conceding 22 runs in his two overs.

MI are set to face the Delhi Capitals (DC) next on Sunday and the team will be hoping for the all-rounder to up his game. Krunal Pandya hasn’t had a great season until now and for MI to continue their good run in the IPL, his contribution is crucial as well.
