And, not only has the ‘Hitman’ lead the Mumbai Indians to 4 IPL titles, he has also emerged as the monarch of the side with the bat in hand.
Rohit is the only batsman to have scored over 3000 runs for the Mumbai Indians. In the 139 innings that he has played for Mumbai, Rohit has scored 3728 runs at an average of 31.86 and at a strike rate of 130.62. The Mumbai skipper has also scored a hundred and 28 fifties for the ‘Men in Blue’.

And, Kohli has scored all his runs for just one franchise, the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The master batsman also has scored 5 centuries and 36 half-centuries in the Indian T20 tournament.
Kohli took batting to a new stratosphere in the 2016 edition of the IPL. He aggregated 973 runs during the 9th edition and scored a staggering 4 centuries in a single IPL season, a record that will stand the test of time. Also, in the 2016 IPL edition, he averaged a whopping 81.08.

Watching Virender Sehwag at his best was an adrenaline altering sporting experience. His hand-eye coordination is second to none, and his ability to take the attack to the opposition and shatter a bowler’s confidence marks him out as a match-winner.
Sehwag spent the first six years of his IPL career with the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/the-reason-why-delhi-daredevils-didnt-go-for-virat-kohli-in-ipl-2008-u19-draft/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Delhi Daredevils</a> (now Delhi Capitals). The ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’ played 79 innings for the Delhi franchise between 2008 and 2013 and scored 2174 runs at an average of 29.37. However, what made him such a lethal weapon in the armoury of the Delhi outfit was that he scored his runs at an unreal strike rate of 160.32.
The dashing batting stalwart also scored a hundred and 15 fifties for the Delhi Daredevils side. The 119 that Sehwag smashed against Deccan Chargers is a memory that will never fade away. In typical Sehwag style, the batting legend took the bowling attack by the scruff of the neck and dismantled the opposition. Sehwag carted 13 fours and six sixes in his 56 ball stay. His whirlwind knock allowed his side to make light work of a tall chase of 176. Just for the record, the next highest scorer for Delhi in that match was James Hopes who scored 17 runs.
Sehwag then moved to Kings XI Punjab and played two seasons for them before retiring from IPL cricket at the end of the 2015 season.

<h3>7. Shaun Marsh- Kings XI Punjab(KXIP)</h3>

The Australian left-hander featured in 69 innings for Punjab and scored 2477 runs at an incredible average of 39.95. Marsh also scored a hundred and 20 fifties for the Punjab outfit.
In fact, Marsh was the Orange Cap winner of the inaugural edition of the IPL and aggregated 616 runs at an average of 68.44 in the 2008 season. Marsh’s only century in IPL cricket also came in that edition when he plundered a 69 ball 115. Opening the batting, Marsh clobbered the Rajasthan bowlers to all parts of the ground and dazzled with the willow in Mohali. Bestowed with the rare virtue of timing, Rahane’s ability to embellish the cricketing arena with pristine drives and flicks marks him out as a special talent.
The diminutive right-hander played 93 innings for the<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ipl-2020-rajasthan-royals-confident-of-steve-smith-playing-their-opening-game-after-missing-england-odis/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Rajasthan Royals </a>side and scored 2810 runs at an average of 34.26. Rahane has also scored 2 hundreds and 17 fifties for the Rajasthan franchise.
Rahane’s highest score in IPL cricket is the 105* that he scored against the Delhi Capitals in the 2019 IPL edition. However, his hundred was not enough for Rajasthan to secure a win as Pant’s 36-ball 78 stole the show. Rahane will turn out for the Delhi Capitals in the 2020 edition of the IPL.

Gautam Gambhir was a vital cog of the Kolkata Knight Riders batting line up from 2011 to 2017. Not only did he lead them to two IPL titles, he was also their talisman with the willow in hand. Gambhir played 108 innings for the Kolkata franchise and scored 3035 runs at an average of 31.61.
The veteran batsman also scored 27 fifties for the franchise. There were several occasions when Gambhir’s mastery with the willow enabled the Knight Riders to tame the opposition. David Warner is a man who can take the game away from the opposition in a jiffy. The stocky left-hander is undoubtedly the most important member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting line up, and his blistering starts at the top of the order have made him a potent weapon in the armoury of the Sunrisers’ batting line up.
