He is a man who has excelled in every format of the game that he has played in. He is the master of the modern era and a legend of the game. Virat Kohli has set the stage on fire irrespective of the format of the game, and the IPL has been no different.

Kohli is the highest run-scorer in the history of the IPL, having amassed 5412 runs in 169 innings in IPL cricket. And, Kohli has scored all his runs for just one franchise, the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The master batsman also has scored 5 centuries and 36 half-centuries in the Indian T20 tournament.

Kohli took batting to a new stratosphere in the 2016 edition of the IPL. He aggregated 973 runs during the 9th edition and scored a staggering 4 centuries in a single IPL season, a record that will stand the test of time. Also, in the 2016 IPL edition, he averaged a whopping 81.08.

Among the many effervescent knocks by Kohli, his 113 against Kings XI Punjab stands out as the crown jewel. In a match reduced to 15 overs a side, Kohli’s mastery with the willow just made the opposition bowling attack appear ordinary. What made his innings all the more special was the fact that he played that match with a split webbing in his left hand. His innings allowed the Bangalore side to thrash Punjab by 82 runs. In the 13th edition of the IPL, Kohli will be looking to lead RCB to their maiden IPL triumph.
