1 – Kolkata Knight Riders have successfully defended a total for the first time in the IPL against the Chennai Super Kings. All their previous seven IPL wins against CSK came while chasing only. CSK was successful while chasing against KKR on each of the previous eight instances.
KKR elect to bat for the first time in five seasons:
32 – Kolkata Knight Riders ended their streak of 32 tosses of electing to bowl first in the IPL by electing to bat during KKR vs CSK on Wednesday. The previous instance of KKR electing to bat first in the IPL was against Delhi Daredevils at the Eden Gardens on May 7, 2015.

He is now the 2nd pacer and also only the 2nd overseas player after Lasith Malinga to claim 150 IPL wickets. Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla and Amit Mishra are the other players to bag 150 IPL wickets.
121 – Dwayne Bravo has picked up 121 wickets in the Twenty20 format for Chennai Super Kings; the most by any player in T20s for the CSK team. Bravo went past Ravi Ashwin’s tally of 120 wickets with the help of his 3-fer against KKR.

7 – MS Dhoni became only the 7th wicketkeeper to claim four or more catches in an IPL match. Only Kumar Sangakkara (Deccan Chargers vs RCB, 2011) has taken more than four catches as a keeper in an IPL game. Naman Ojha and Parthiv Patel are only Indian keepers to have taken four catches in an IPL game before Dhoni.
104 – Number of catches MS Dhoni has claimed in the IPL as wicketkeeper; the joint-most by any keeper in this league. Dhoni went past Dinesh Karthik’s tally of 103 catches during KKR inning but the Karthik took the catch of Faf du Plessis to level with Dhoni during CSK’s inning.
104 – Dhoni, with four catches during KKR vs CSK, has 104 catches in all Twenty20 matches for Chennai Super Kings; the most number of catches by any player in T20s for the Chennai franchise surpassing Suresh Raina’s 103 catches.
Narine gets Watson yet again:
9 – Sunil Narine now has dismissed Shane Watson on nine occasions in the Twenty20 format; the joint-most times any bowler has claimed a batsman’s wicket in the T20 cricket. Dwayne Bravo also dismissed Kieron Pollard on nine instances in the Twenty20 cricket thus far.
