IPL 2020: Match 25, CSK vs RCB- CSK Predicted Playing XI
The Super Kings need to sort out their woes in the middle-order.
The 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to get underway between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Dubai. The three-time champions are finding it very hard to turn things in their favour in this season of IPL. They started the season in all the style but fell down on three straight occasions after it.
They came up strong against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), but their latest outing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has again raised several questions. It seems as if they have found the right combination, but players stumble at the time when they are entrusted to perform. In their last game, the openers had set the tone in the best manner, and it was all going in CSK’s favour until their middle-order trouble began.
Even in the end, things could’ve been fine, but Kedar Jadhav seemed to have lost all the focus and kept on repeating mistakes. However, in their next match against Virat Kohli’s Challengers, let’s see how they make up things for themselves.
Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Chennai Super Kings for KXIP vs KKR game:
Openers (Shane Watson and Ruturaj Gaikwad)
Shane Watson looked a bit rusty in the initial games for CSK, but he seems to have found all the rhythm in his last two outings. In the last match also, he produced a sublime fifty from his bat and gave CSK a great start. He is most likely to open the batting for the Super Kings again in the match against RCB.
Though the young man hasn’t got anything substantial in his bag in IPL 2020 so far, Ruturaj Gaikwad might get a chance once against with CSK in the upcoming match. In case, CSK consider replacing Jadhav, Du Plessis can come down the order, and he can open up with Watson.
Middle-order (Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, and MS Dhoni)
He is the one man who is performing for CSK from day one. Though Du Plessis played a small part for the yellow army in the last match, he will very much remain the part of the team in coming matches. Apart from his great batting, he leaves no chance to display his outstanding fielding skills in every match.
Ambati Rayudu is another talented batsman in CSK’s backyard. He missed a couple of matched owing to a hamstring injury but is back in form again. He played an essential cameo of 30 runs in the last match to get CSK going. He has all the capabilities to provide strength to the team’s middle-order and will most likely remain with the team in the next outing.
Though MS Dhoni is leaving no chance to display his best skill behind the stumps, his batting form is under a lot of questions. He is not able to bring in the form which is expected from the best finisher in the world. However, he will most probably lead the yellow team with all his experience at the international arena.
All-rounders (Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, and DJ Bravo)
One of the greatest fielders in the world, Ravindra Jadeja is trying his best to level up his batting numbers in the last few games. In the last match also, he fetched 21 runs from just eight balls. He could have turned things in CSK’s favour if the strike would have been rotated properly. He will show up for his team in all likelihood in the next match.
The young man of CSK, Sam Curran has been performing his duties too well in both the sections of the game. Curran has the ability to fetch quick runs for his team and did the same in the last game. He even knocked down Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan in the last game. He would most probably walk on the field for the Super Kings.
The Caribbean star is back in the team and can provide support in both sections of the game. Though DJ Bravo hasn’t gotten a chance with the bat yet, his bowling is doing the work right for Chennai. In the last match also, he picked three wickets and lent support to the team. He will most likely be picked by his team for the next contest.
Bowlers (Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Karn Sharma)
Though Chahar has been performing best with the new ball for CSK so far, his outing turned out to be disappointing against KKR. He remained costliest for his team and didn’t get a single wicket under his belt. However, he can still find a place in CSK’s playing XI in the next match owing to his earlier performances in IPL.
Shardul Thakur has become CSK’s regular feature in the last few matches and did not fail to perform on any occasion. He picked wickets in every match he has played and got two scalps to his name in the last game too. Seeing his consistent form and reasonable economy, he can very much find a place in the playing eleven of Chennai in their next face-off.
The last outing of CSK saw Karn Sharma filling in the shoes of Piyush Chawla, and the decision turned out good for the team. He remained the most economical one from Chennai’s bowling unit by conceding just 25 runs in four overs along with getting two wickets. Seeing his form, he might be trusted by team management for another game with CSK.
