The match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) turned out to be a low-scoring affair. But for the most part of the game, the entertainment quotient was at the top. In the end, the Royals came out trumps by seven wickets at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

On Monday, RR, captained by Steve Smith, chased down the target of 126 with 15 deliveries to spare. CSK’s decision to bat first on a sluggish surface backfired as their batters failed to get the spinners away. In fact, the Super Kings couldn’t get a single boundary off the spinners.

It was Ravindra Jadeja’s 30-ball 35 that helped them get over the 120-run mark. In the meantime, with the victory, CSK went to the bottom of the points table. RR, on the other hand, moved to the fifth position.

Here are the RR Player Ratings for the CSK vs RR match: –

Ben Stokes- 6.5/10

Ben Stokes didn’t have a great day with the ball, conceding 27 runs in three overs and not picking up a wicket. The left-hander smashed three fours to his 11-ball 19 before Deepak Chahar dismissed him.

Robin Uthappa- 1.5/10

Robin Uthappa failed on his second appearance for RR as an opener. He went for a cheeky shot off Josh Hazlewood but could manage a top-edge to MS Dhoni. Uthappa scored four runs off nine balls.

Sanju Samson- 1/10

Sanju Samson was a tad unlucky as he was caught down the leg-side. He became Chahar’s second victim. He couldn’t open his account. In the field, Sanju took one catch and effected one run-out.

Steve Smith- 8/10

Steve Smith only scored 26 runs off 34 balls with two fours at a strike-rate of 76.47. But he helped the Royals recover from the early jolts. He stayed until the very end and saw his team over the line.

Jos Buttler- 9.5/10

Jos Buttler was on top of his game without a doubt. He started with singles, but once he got his eyes in, he was hard to stop. Buttler stayed not out on 70 runs off 48 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

Rahul Tewatia- 9/10

Rahul Tewatia was excellent with the ball in hand. He bowled 11 dot balls in his spell of four overs, conceding a mere 18 runs. The leg-spinner also picked up the crucial wicket of Ambati Rayudu.

Riyan Parag- N/A

Jofra Archer- 9/10

Jofra Archer didn’t flatter to deceive, taking charge in the powerplay and at the death overs. In his four overs, the Barbados-born pacer gave away 20 runs and also picked up Faf du Plessis’ wicket.

Shreyas Gopal- 9.5/10

Shreyas Gopal was arguably the standout bowler for the Royals. In four overs, the tweaker gave away a mere 14 runs and bowled at an economy of 3.50. Gopal also nipped out Sam Curran.

Ankit Rajpoot- 5/10

Ankit Rajpoot didn’t get many chances to bowl. He turned his arms over for only six balls in which he conceded eight runs. The right-arm pacer gave away a solitary boundary along with two dot balls.

Kartik Tyagi- 8/10

Kartik Tyagi bowled with fire and he didn’t let his team and captain down. In four overs, the fast bowler gave away 35 runs with 11 dot balls. The Young Turk also pinned veteran Shane Watson.
