The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) managed to cease their three-match losing streak and kept their playoffs hopes alive for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team, captained by David Warner, defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

It was also their first victory in the ongoing T20 tournament while batting second. After electing to field first, the Orange Army restricted the Royals to a below-par 154 in their 20 overs. While chasing, they lost a couple of early wickets.

But Vijay Shankar and Manish Pandey’s unbeaten 140-run stand guided them over the finishing line with as many as 11 balls to spare. As far as Steve Smith’s Royals are concerned, they slipped down to the seventh spot in the points table.

Here are the SRH Player Ratings for the RR vs SRH match:

David Warner- 1.5/10

David Warner had a scratchy outing with the bat in hand. The left-hander got a reprieve when he edged one for a four off speedster Jofra Archer. But he got out to the same bowler in the fourth ball.

Jonny Bairstow- 2.5/10

Jonny Bairstow promised with a couple of fours and sixes. To his dismay, Archer ended his stay in the middle. The ball cannoned into the stumps and the right-hander got out for 10 runs off seven balls.

Manish Pandey- 9.5/10

Manish Pandey was outstanding, to say the least. The right-hander helped SRH recover from the early jolts and notched a half-century off 28 balls. He scored 83 runs off 47 balls with four fours and eight sixes.

Vijay Shankar- 9/10

Vijay Shankar was decent with the ball, picking up Jos Buttler’s wicket at an economy of five in three overs. Then he turned up with a knock of 52 runs off 51 balls with the help of six glorious fours.

Priyam Garg- N/A

Abdul Samad- N/A

Jason Holder- 9/10

Jason Holder played his first game of the ongoing IPL and he wasn’t rusty. He picked up the crucial wickets of Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, and Riyan Parag. He also effected the run out of Robin Uthappa.

Rashid Khan- 9/10

Rashid Khan was accurate enough with the ball in hand. The tweaker nipped out Ben Stokes in the 13th over. Most importantly, he didn’t concede a single boundary and bowled at an economy of five.

Sandeep Sharma- 7/10

Sandeep Sharma bowled reasonably. Though he couldn’t get a wicket, he didn’t leak a whole lot of runs either. In his four overs, the fast bowler gave away 31 runs and bowled eight dot balls as well.

T Natarajan- 1/10

T Natarajan had a rough day with the ball in hand. The left-arm seamer turned out to be the most expensive bowler for the Sunrisers on the day. In four overs, the pacer leaked as many as 46 runs.

Shahbaz Nadeem- 4/10

Shahbaz Nadeem is a class act, but he was entrusted for only a solitary over. He conceded one four and five singles. He knows the tricks of the trade and can be a handy prospect for SRH in the future.
