IPL 2020: Match 54, KKR vs RR – Kolkata Knight Riders Player Ratings
The Knights, from the eighth position, moved to fourth in the points table.
After Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) earlier on Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) went down to the bottom of the points table. However, all was not lost for the Men in Gold and Purple ahead of their match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
In their last league game, the Knights came out firing on all cylinders and won by 60 runs. After being put in to bat first, Eoin Morgan and Co racked up 191 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. In the run-chase, the Royals tried to go after everything and subsequently, lost wickets in quick succession.
In the end, they crawled to 131 for nine, falling way short of the target. With the loss, their journey in the tournament also ended. For the Knights, they moved up to fourth in the points table.

Shubman Gill- 8.5/10
Prior to this game, Shubman Gill didn’t have a high-strike-rate. However, he took care of the same and notched 36 runs off 24 balls, striking at 150. The youngster’s knock was laced with six glorious fours.
Nitish Rana- 1/10
Nitish Rana didn’t trouble the scorer and bagged a golden duck in the very first over of KKR’s innings. Jofra Archer found his outside edge to send him packing. The batsman took the DRS but to no avail.
Rahul Tripathi- 7.5/10
Rahul Tripathi strained in the early part of his knock, but he played some delightful shots later on. In 34 balls, the right-hander scored 39 runs with four fours and two sixes. Shreyas Gopal got rid of him.
Sunil Narine- 1/10
Sunil Narine batted at number four, but couldn’t open his account. He holed out to Ben Stokes in the deep off Rahul Tewatia. With the ball in hand, he leaked 37 runs and looked rusty to say the least.
Eoin Morgan- 9.5/10
Eoin Morgan put his best foot forward and stayed unbeaten until the very end. The KKR captain smashed 68 runs off 35 balls and injected momentum into the innings. He hit five fours and six sixes.
Dinesh Karthik- 3/10
Dinesh Karthik had another off day with the bat in hand. The right-hander got out for a duck, giving Tewatia his second wicket. However, he took a stupendous diving catch to send Ben Stokes back to the hut.
Andre Russell- 7/10
Andre Russell made his comeback into the eleven and he threatened to get away. Dre-Russ smacked one four and three sixes to an 11-ball 25. Kartik Tyagi accounted for his prized scalp in the 16th over.
Pat Cummins- 9.5/10
Pat Cummins conceded 19 runs in the first five balls he bowled. But then he ripped the heart out of RR’s batting. He got rid of Robin Uthappa, Ben Stokes, Steve Smith and Riyan Parag to end with figures of 4-0-34-4.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti- 8/10
Kamlesh Nagarkoti was on his mark as well with the ball. In his four overs, the young fast bowler conceded only 24 runs with 12 dot balls and three fours. The pacer also picked up the wicket of Jofra Archer.
Shivam Mavi- 9.5/10
Shivam Mavi was outstanding, to say the least. He was the most economical bowler for the Knights, conceding 15 runs with a maiden at a rate of 3.75. The pacer also dismissed Sanju Samson and Kartik Tyagi.
Varun Chakravarthy- 9/10
Varun Chakravarthy had a decent day with the ball in hand. The tweaker gave away only 20 runs at an economy rate of five. Most importantly, he got the crucial wickets of Jos Buttler and Rahul Tewatia.
