IPL 2020: Match 55, DC vs RCB – RCB Predicted Playing XI
Will RCB make any changes vs DC?
Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their last league game of IPL 2020 against DC. It is a virtual knockout game for both the teams and RCB would want to leave behind their three consecutive losses. If they win this one, they will seal their spot in the first qualifier against Mumbai and will get two chances to make it to the final.
RCB finally looked a balanced side this season as everything was falling perfectly for them in the first half. However, their team has looked sluggish in the latter half and their batting order looks extremely fragile after number four. However, as the venue this time is Abu Dhabi, they can expect a decent batting surface that should help their batsmen.
Here’s the predicted playing XI of RCB for DC vs RCB:
Openers (Josh Philippe and Devdutt Padikkal)
Josh Philippe has got two promising starts in his first two games as an opener. However, the team would want him to play a big knock this time as a good start can lay the foundation for a big total for RCB. Devdutt Padikkal has been in sublime form this season and has scored four fifties so far. If he can get past Ravi Ashwin, a big knock can be waiting for him.
Middle-order (Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Shivam Dube)
Virat Kohli has scored the most runs for RCB this year but his scoring rate has been under scanner. As Abu Dhabi has been a high scoring ground, RCB would want their skipper to score at a brisk rate. AB de Villiers has played three match-winning knocks this year but he needs to be more consistent, if he gets going against DC, RCB can expect a big total.
Shivam Dube can replace Gurkeerat Singh Mann in this game. The southpaw has shown the ability to score big shots in the middle which RCB has lacked in this competition. Though Gurkeerat has played some important cameos, his inability to score big shots has hurt RCB.
All-rounders (Chris Morris and Washington Sundar)
With the conditions providing some assistance to the pacers at the top, Chris Morris can be valuable in the powerplay. Also, Washington Sundar’s economical spell has helped RCB in past and they would expect the same this time. Both the all-rounders can hit big shots in the slog overs and as the low scoring rate has hurt them recently, they can be promoted as a pinch hitter as well.
Bowlers (Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini, Mohammad Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal)
Yuzvendra Chahal’s role will be very important to restrict DC by picking wickets in the middle order. Udana and Saini will accompany Morris at the death to restrain Delhi from finishing well. Siraj can be used at the top as DC’s openers have struggled against pacers at the start and Siraj can use the new ball quite well.
