Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locked horns on Friday in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The defending champions continued their dominance over KKR in the cash-rich league and registered their fifth consecutive win. It also helped them reach the top of the points table with 12 points to their name after 8 matches. Quinton de Kock was named Man of the Match for his exceptional 78* off 44 deliveries.

However, the wicket-keeper of the four-time title winners was the talking point for another hilarious reason which has left the fans in splits. After restricting KKR to 148 runs in the first innings, Rohit Sharma and De Kock walked out to bat.

It was only a 15-minute innings break and it seems that Quinton de Kock forgot to change his training pant. He hilariously walked out to bat with his skipper in his training joggers itself and his teammates told him only after he was in the middle. De Kock was left confused after he was told about it and the southpaw did his best to cover his training attire. This left Rohit in splits as well and couldn’t control himself on the field.

However, this blip in his training attire didn’t stop Quinton de Kock from expressing himself. He first added 94 runs with Rohit for the opening wicket. The latter scored only 35 runs in the partnership while the South African was at his attacking best. He took on the opposition bowling from the word go and never let them settle.

At one stage, it seemed as if De Kock will get to a century in the modest chase. However, Hardik Pandya batted at four and played some brilliant shots to end the game in the 17th over itself. With the ball, Rahul Chahar did well for them conceding only 18 runs and picking two wickets while Jasprit Bumrah was once again at his best.

Krunal Pandya also bowled an economical spell to keep a lid on the run-scoring. Eventually, it was a comprehensive win for MI and they registered their 21st win over KKR in 27 matches.
