IPL 2020: Mumbai Indians (MI) schedule for the season

The much-awaited IPL 2020 is finally set to hit the floors from September 19th in the UAE, with the final being locked on November 10th. After many delays, the BCCI eventually identified the gulf nation as a viable option to host the cash-rich league. Considering the COVID-19 situation, all players are going to reside in a bio-secure bubble during the course of the tournament.
The BCCI finally ended the wait of IPL 2020 fans and released the schedule of the tournament on Sunday. Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will be facing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening game at Abu Dhabi on September 19th.
Mumbai Indians, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, will be aiming to add another IPL title to their name. Rohit is currently the most successful skipper in the history of the IPL, having led the Mumbai franchise to four titles. With match-winners like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Jasprit Bumrah in their side, MI will certainly put up a strong show in this year’s IPL. They’ve already started their outdoor training sessions after serving the mandatory quarantine period.
Mumbai Indians is currently the most successful IPL side
After the opening fixture against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings, MI will face Kolkata Knight Riders on 23rd September at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. On 28th September, the world will witness Rohit Sharma’s men battling against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore.
To start off their IPL 2020 campaign in October, MI will lock horns with Kings XI Punjab on 1st, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on 4th and 6th respectively. MI’s voyage will continue further by facing Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders on 11th and 16th October respectively.
All the matches set to take place in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in three different legs. The afternoon matches are set to begin at 3:30 PM IST while the evening games will commence on 7:30 PM IST.
Continuing their campaign, MI will face Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on 18th, 23rd and 25th October respectively. MI’s next two encounters in the league stage will be against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on 28th and 31st October respectively. Rohit Sharma’s men will play their final league stage encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 3rd November at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
