Its been a decade since Indian Premier League was kicked off but in the last 12 seasons Kings XI Punjab is still due to have a taste of their maiden IPL trophy win. So far the best season of KXIP came in 2014 when they reached finals but it was KKR who stopped them from crossing the finishing line. In past seasons of this giant cricket league, the team had performed decently well but they choked themselves out in crucial matches which led them out of the league.

With auction kept on the line which is going to take place in a couple of months for IPL 2020. The team management of the franchises are busy in their hunt to find some fresh legs for their respective teams but the owner of KXIP has come down with a statement regarding Ravichandran Ashwin’s future and has cut down the rumors that were surrounding around their team’s skipper over his transfer to a new franchise for the upcoming season.

KXIP decides the future of Ashwin for IPL 2020

KXIP co-owner Ness Wadia feels Ashwin is an exceptional player and he will be an integral part of their campaign for IPL 2020 tournament and there is no point in trading him to any other team, “We have seen what impact Ashwin has in the Indian team. He is an exceptional player and is not only an asset for the Indian team, but also for Kings XI Punjab. He is an integral part of the team and he will continue to remain so. You know the value Ashwin brings to the team. There is no question of letting him go,” Wadia said as quoted by Sportstar.

But retaining Ashwin doesn’t mean that he will also be the captain of the team for IPL 2020, and the owner expressed that these decisions will be taken their newly appointed coach only, “Anil Kumble has just taken over and all the cricketing decisions will eventually be taken by him,” he added

Earlier today, Kings announced their new coaching staff with Anil Kumble being the main man, followed by Courtney Walsh (Bowling coach), Jonty Rhodes (fielding coach), George Bailey (Batting coach) and Sunil Joshi will be the assistant coach of the team.
