IPL 2020: One player from each team who can win the Emerging Player Award
The most promising talent of the season is named the Emerging Player of the Season at the end of the tournament every year.
4. Prasidh Krishna (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Prasidh Krishna emerged on to the scene in 2018 and impressed everyone with his pace and accuracy. In the seven games he played, Krishna picked up 10 wickets at a strike rate of 16.80. Moreover, he bowled exceedingly well in some high-pressure games at the death.
Krishna has played a couple of seasons in the IPL. While he tends to be expensive, he can pick wickets. He took 10 wickets from seven games in the 2018 season but was disappointing in 2019. However, Krishna has put a disappointing IPL season behind him and has started afresh. He picked up eight wickets and had an excellent economy of 6.07 in the controversial Karnataka Premier League (KPL). He then took 17 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy at an average of 13.41 and was striking once every 20 deliveries.
Moreover, what was impressive was the pace with which he bowled. The Karnataka lad steams in and hits the deck hard. Hence, with Kohli mentioning out Krishna in particular, he could be well in line for an India debut in the near future and is certainly in the picture for the T20 World Cup.
