IPL 2020: Players who have pulled out and their replacements
As the league kick-off within a week’s time, here’s a list of players who have pulled out of the tournament owing to personal or health issues, and their respective replacements.
5. Harry Gurney – Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
The Kolkata Knight Riders medium-pacer Harry Gurney has also been ruled out of the IPL 2020 owing to a shoulder injury. The left-arm pacer was purchased at a base price of INR 75 lakhs in the 2019 IPL auctions by KKR. In the eight appearances made for KKR last year, Gurney managed seven scalps at an economy of 8.8. He also earned the ‘Man of the Match’ title for his spell (2/29) against Rajasthan Royals.
Ali Khan of the USA has been named the replacement of English speedster. 29-year-old Khan will be the first player from the USA to feature in the IPL. Ali Khan grabbed the attention of the KKR team management in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 where he played for Trinbago Knight Riders, a franchise which has common owners as that of KKR. He bagged eight wickets with an economy rate of 7.43.
He is known for his 140 kph speed and perfect yorkers during the slog overs Ali Khan has played in the Bangladesh Premier League and Pakistan Super League as well.
