The schedule for the league stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has already been announced. The tournament is set to get underway on March 29 with the match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. For the first time in the history of the T20 league, the franchises took to Twitter to put forth their schedule.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) also uploaded their schedules. While doing the same, RCB made a horrendous error, something which was pointed out by the Royals. The Challengers used an old logo of RR and the latter noticed it right away. Subsequently, they didn’t leave any stone unturned in trolling the Challengers.

Making the Challengers aware of their error, the Royals responded to the tweet and wrote, “We will wait for @BCCI’s official announcement on the fixtures, but for any franchises releasing early, this is our logo. ????.”

Here is RR’s tweet

The Challengers would be playing their first match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, March 31 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. On the other hand, the Royals would be starting late on April 2 against last year’s runners-up Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Royals haven’t won the tournament ever since the first edition in 2008.

They would be starting the tournament a bit late than others due to the unavailability of some of their players. Ben Stokes and Steve Smith, two of their key players, won’t be available for the March-leg of the T20 championship. While on one hand, England and Australia would be involved in a T20I series, the Three Lions would be playing a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

For the upcoming edition, the number of double-headers has also been pruned down. Also, the number of days in the league stages have been increased. The schedule for the playoffs is yet to be announced though. The final will be played on May 24. There will also be an All-Stars game before the start of the IPL.
