The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are up against each other in the 31st fixture of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League on Thursday (October 15) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. KXIP had opened their account in the 2020 edition by defeating Bangalore while the latter had registered their biggest loss in the competition so far against the former only. Punjab had thumped the Bangalore outfit by 97 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. However, their fortunes have turned around drastically in the T20 extravaganza.

For Virat Kohli’s Challengers, they have won five out of their first seven games and are sitting at the third position of the points table in the event. They are also coming off an 82-run win over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). KXIP, on the other hand, have lost six out of their seven games and are tottering at the bottom of the points table.

Before the match commenced, as the teams were preparing at the Sharjah Stadium, a video went viral on social media featuring RCB skipper Virat Kohli. In the clip, Kohli can be seen performing hilarious dance steps and entertaining his teammates. The captain looked relaxed and was in a jolly mood as he was thoroughly enjoying himself.

Virat Kohli is playing his 200th game for RCB

Kohli will be playing his 200th match during RCB’s high-tension clash against KL Rahul‘s-franchise. The skipper has played 184 matches in the IPL so far and has featured in 15 Champions League T20 (CLT20) games during his time with the Bangalore outfit. Ahead of the clash, Virat is just six boundaries away from hitting 500 fours in the tournament and is also just 3 maximums away from meeting 200 sixes in the league. He is also the leading run-getter in the Indian Premier League with 5668 runs including 5 centuries and 38 half-centuries.

As far as the 2020 edition is concerned, Virat has played seven games scoring 284 runs at an average of 71 and strike rate of 129.09 including two half-centuries. With the RCB skipper and AB de Villiers in brilliant form, we can expect the RCB franchise to do well in this IPL season.
