After many delays, the much-awaited IPL 2020 is slated to start from September 19th in the UAE amid COVID-19 pandemic. At one point in time, the feasibility of the cash-rich league was looking quite vague. But the BCCI was eventually able to shift the tournament to a different country altogether.

Considering the COVID-19 threat, the entire IPL 2020 will be played under special measures, with all franchises residing in a ‘bio-secure bubble’. Ahead of the start of IPL 2020, Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore have announced that their jersey in this edition will have a special tribute to the frontline workers during the pandemic.

“The RCB team will proudly don a tribute jersey with the message “My COVID Heroes” both during training & matches during the #Dream11IPL in honour of the Real Challengers who have helped the world during the uncertain times,” RCB captioned the post.

The Bangalore franchise even shared pictures of their new kits for IPL 2020 on social media. Skipper Kohli was seen holding the new RCB jersey in the picture. Furthermore, they also released their official anthem for IPL 2020 and dedicated it to their fans.

RCB also release their official IPL 2020 anthem

“The Official RCB Anthem is here! And it’s dedicated to the best fans in the world. Time to crank up the volume to the maximum, 12th Man Army,” wrote the franchise along with sharing the anthem.

RCB will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first game of IPL 2020 on 21st September. With new additions like Aaron Finch and Adam Zampa, RCB fans will be hoping that their side can clinch their maiden IPL title this year. Despite being equipped with a star-studded squad, RCB have failed to lift the trophy even once in their IPL journey.

RCB have been training hard in nets ahead of their opening fixture and there’s a lot of talk about AB de Villiers donning the wicketkeeping duties this year. This could also mean their young star Devdutt Padikkal could break into their Playing XI and flaunt his potential in the UAE. RCB are slated to play 3 matches in Sharjah, 4 in Abu Dhabi and 7 games in Dubai during their IPL 2020 voyage.
