8. Mohit Sharma – DC
Mohit Sharma was not the first choice Indian pacer for the Delhi Capitals. However, an unexpected injury paved the way for his inclusion in the playing XI. Once a strike bowler for Chennai Super Kings and the spearhead of India’s pace attack in the 2015 World Cup, Sharma’s performance has deteriorated over the years.
After he was bought by Kings XI Punjab, he made his comeback to his original team CSK in 2019. Here, he was not expected to get enough chances and performed poorly in his only match. The capitals bought him and kept him as a backup option for their Indian strike pacer, Ishant Sharma.
In the match against Kings XI Punjab, he scalped the prized wicket of KL Rahul, however conceded a huge amount of runs. Had it not been for Stoinis’ and Rabada’s heroics in the end, the Capitals would have suffered a heartbreaking loss. In the next match, he was replaced by the uncapped pacer Avesh Khan.
