IPL 2021: 3 players you should avoid in fantasy teams for Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings game
Marcus Stoinis has not played a defining performance yet for Delhi Capitals.
Delhi Capitals‘ batting unit collapsed quite badly in the match against Rajasthan Royals. Players like Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw were expected to play well but managed low scores. But, we are sure that had you expected that these players will not perform well in this match, you might have not picked them in your fantasy teams.
Sometimes information about a players’ weakness against a certain kind of player can help you chalk out of the players for your fantasy teams. As Delhi Capitals take on Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 18, it will be a good opportunity for fans to collect some fantasy points.
Here are 3 players whom you should avoid in your fantasy team for the match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings
1. Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin’s impact on the IPL 2021 so far hasn’t been a lot. In the first match, he saw himself get smashed for 47 runs when he picked up a wicket. However, in the very next match, he bowled a tight spell of 14 runs but failed to pick up a wicket.
The fact that Ashwin’s full quota of four overs was not utilized was a topic of discussion after Delhi Capitals lost their match against Rajasthan Royals. Given how Ashwin has operated it seems that he won’t be getting a lot of fantasy points. It should also be noted that as a spinner, he is bound to struggle on the Wankhede pitch.
2. Murugan Ashwin
The problem with Murugan Ashwin is the same as that of his senior statesman Ravichandran Ashwin. The Wankhede doesn’t suit the spinners a lot. Leg-spinners especially find it difficult to make things happen for themselves. With the dew coming in as well, it becomes difficult for someone to be bowling leg-spin with control.
In this tournament so far, Murugan has bowled seven overs and conceded 75 runs. He did pick up a wicket but that happened against the run of play. He could be seen struggling with his lines once again against Delhi, with them having such quality players of spin.
3. Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis was the glue that kept the balance of the Delhi side together in the previous season of the IPL. However, this season, so far his contribution has not been big. He has bowled three overs and conceded 41 runs and somehow the batsmen have found it easy to score against Stoinis’ right-arm medium pace. With the bat as well, he scored a five-ball duck against Rajasthan. It seems at this moment, Stoinis is not able to read the pace of the pitch.
