The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is one of the most consistent teams in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Although they have won only a single trophy, they have managed to reach the playoffs multiple times. They work on their core team and regularly change their players to add more variety to their attack. With multiple big names in their arsenal, they are looking for a strong side this year.

They will be captained once again by David Warner. The Aussie was phenomenal in 2016 where he guided his team to their inaugural championship victory. Later on, Kane Williamson managed to drag the franchise into the final, but they were outplayed by the brilliance of Shane Watson. This time, it will be interesting to see how their plans pay off.

With a young side, the management can look forward to creating a solid team in the future. A stacked middle order with an attacking top-order ensures that the team is stable. Apart from that, they have the second-best bowling lineup after MI. Well, some players might not get a chance in the upcoming season.

Here are 3 SRH players who might be benched for most of the season:

1. Shreevats Goswami

Shreevats Goswami was a part of the victorious Indian U19 team that won the World Cup under the leadership of Virat Kohli. During that tournament, he did an excellent job by keeping the wickets and scoring valuable runs at the top of the order. He belonged to the group of players, who managed to grab an IPL contract, from that U19 squad  And it was an offer from the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Later on, Goswami moved to the KKR franchise during the fourth edition of the IPL. But later on, he found no bidders. Thereafter, he went on to become a part of the Orange Army. He has also opened the innings for SRH on a few occasions. But, unfortunately, he has failed as he has scored only 293 runs in his IPL career.

Goswami’s fall was mainly because of a lack of chances and confidence. But, with Wriddhiman Saha and Jonny Bairstow fighting for the role of the primary keeper in the SRH squad, it is less likely that he will get a chance this year. The only case where Goswami gets a chance is when Saha gets injured and Bairstow decides not to keep the wickets. Adding on, his poor strike rate of 99.32 does not help him to contend for the post of the opener in the squad.
