IPL 2021: 3 SRH players who might be benched for most of the season
The Sunrisers bowled out of IPL 2020 after their loss to Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 2.
3. Siddarth Kaul
Siddarth Kaul became a household name after an excellent 2018 season in the IPL. In 17 IPL games, Kaul picked up 21 wickets. All the wickets were picked with a decent economy rate of 8.28. During that time, he was Kane Williamson’s go-to man as he had the knack of picking quick wickets at regular intervals.
Kaul was also a member of Virat Kohli’s team that defeated South Africa during the 2008 U19 world cup. He was so impressive in 2018 that he made it to the national squad. But, unfortunately for him, he had a poor tour to England. And the rise of Jasprit Bumrah made it even more difficult for Kaul to retain his place in the squad.
In 2019, Kaul had a poor IPL season by his standards. He played only seven games in which he picked up six wickets. Adding on, a single game in 2020 showcases that the management might release him next year. This is mainly because the SRH management is looking for younger faces. Therefore, Kaul might not get enough chances this year.
