IPL 2021: 3 teams that can pick Kyle Jamieson in the auction
Jamieson has come up the ranks in the last 12 months or so.
Kyle Jamieson has taken the cricketing world by storm. The Kiwi pacer is tall; he can generate awkward bounce off the surface; he can get the ball to nip sharply off the deck, and is a bowler who can be handy for any side, irrespective of the format.
Jamieson is already considered one of the lethal weapons in the armory of the New Zealand bowling line up. The right-arm pacer has taken 36 wickets in just 6 Test matches for his country and averages a stunning 13.28 with the ball in the whites. And with such numbers, and with age on his side, Jamieson is here to stay.
The 26-year-old pacer has registered his name for the 2021 IPL auction, and will surely attract bids from various franchises. The much-awaited IPL auction all set to take place on 18th February 2021.
Let us take a look at 3 franchises that can procure the services of Kyle Jamieson for the 2021 edition of the IPL:
1. Kings XI Punjab
The Kings XI Punjab pace attack bears a weak look ahead of the 2021 IPL auction. While they have Mohammed Shami, who can be lethal both upfront with the new ball as well as at the death, the other names in their squad are pretty ordinary. And, as far as Chris Jordan is concerned, he experienced a poor season in the UAE last year.
Jordan played 9 games, picked up 9 wickets, and his economy rate was a high 9.65 runs an over. Other than Jordan and Shami, the Kings XI side do not even have a single pacer in their current set up who has featured in even 20 IPL matches. While the likes of Ishan Porel and Darshan Nalkande have not played a single IPL match, Arshdeep Singh has just played 11 IPL matches.
And, that is where Kyle Jamieson will come in handy. He can be allowed to open the bowling with Shami, and the prospect of facing the duo of Jamieson and Shami would be a daunting task for any batting line up.
