“In the air, Sreesanth takes it, India wins! Unbelievable scenes here at the Bull Ring!” Well, if you remember this epic commentary by Ravi Shastri, you want Sreesanth to make a comeback in the toughest T20 league. The right-arm fast bowler was at the receiving end of a spot-fixing scandal during an IPL game.

This meant that he was banned by the BCCI and he was unable to participate in any competitive tournament. Talking about his past, he was the first bowler from Kerala to claim a hattrick in a Ranji game. Later on, he has drafted into the ODI squad and a series of consistent performances meant that he was included in the Test team too.

Sreesanth can swing the ball both ways and one of the most memorable performances produced by the fast bowler was when he took 5-40 during a Test match against South Africa. Sreesanth is making a comeback after his exile for cricket.

Outside the cricketing world, he is a student of Psychology. Let us hope that his return to the IPL is an impressive one as he is looking forward to making a name for himself this season.

Here are 3 IPL teams that might pick S Sreesanth in the auction:

1. Kings XI Punjab

The fans might witness a homecoming as S Sreesanth might be drafted by the Kings XI Punjab. The Kings XI had a hot-and-cold tournament as they choked during the initial part of the season. The absence of a proper death bowler never helped them to win matches during the season.

At crucial stages, they leaked runs, and hence, the efforts given by the batsmen went in vain. It looks like the Kings XI might opt for an experienced bowler in the form of S Sreesanth. The right-arm quick bowler was a member of the Kings XI squad and was their frontline pacer during the initial seasons of the tournament.

He has played in 44 IPL matches and has taken 40 wickets. As Punjab felt the absence of a proper death bowler for most of the season, the inclusion of an Indian pacer might help them to strengthen their bowling unit.

Sreesanth was a member of the Indian team that won the World Cup in 2011. Therefore, he knows how to hold his nerves in pressure situations. With KL Rahul captaining the side once again, Sreesanth might be a valuable addition to the squad.
