Match 39 of the IPL 2021 took place between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore where Virat Kohli and his men won the clash clinically. The defending champions are having a nightmarish season and have now slipped to the seventh position in the points table. Some of the usual stars of Mumbai who have failed to fire are Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya.
Ishan Kishan has been an integral member of the Mumbai squad for quite some time and remains at his usual best while hitting the ball hard. In fact, in IPL 2020, he was in the 500 runs club which is a laudable aspect of the league. However, in the latest turn of events, a clip of Virat Kohli consoling young Kishan has been doing rounds on the internet.
Kishan, who failed to fire yet against RCB on Sunday, left the field on just nine runs after being trapped by ace leggie Yuzvendra Chahal. Though RCB won the match, skipper Kohli gave the best look of sportsmanship and consoled the junior during his rough patch. In the video, Kohli can be seen putting his arm around the young MI batter who almost broke down while talking to him.

Rohit Sharma opens up on Ishan Kishan’s rough patch
Kishan has failed so far to fire and the T20 World Cup is just around the corner. The main issue stands that the young man has been selected by the BCCI for the high-profile event and with the current scenario, things don’t look good for them. In fact, the same is the case with Suryakumar Yadav. In the same light, many are asking BCCI to reconsider their calls before the start of the tournament.
“He is a talented player (Ishan Kishan). He’s had a terrific IPL last year. We want to back his natural game which is why he came up the order above Surya. I don’t want to put too much pressure on the guy. He is relatively young, making his way in international cricket,” said Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma on Kishan’s struggling form, after the MI vs RCB match.
