IPL 2021: Aakash Chopra makes his predictions for the CSKvsPBKS and KKRvsRR matches
The Kings, Royals and the Knight Riders are still in contention to qualify for the playoffs.
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has put forth his predictions for Thursday’s doubleheader in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. He started with his insights on the day’s opening game between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. CSK have already qualified for the playoffs and are mostly assured of a berth in the top two.
PBKS, on the other hand, need a win to have any hopes of making it to the next round. KL Rahul and Co. need to win by a big margin to improve their net run rate. They will be going into the game on the back of a six-run defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore in Sharjah. For the upcoming game, Chopra said that the openers will score a combined tally of over 125 runs.

“Four openers to score 125 plus runs,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel. Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad are mostly likely to open the batting for their respective teams.
Chopra also backed the spinners in the game to pick up over two wickets “Spinners to get two plus wickets,” he stated. Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Bishnoi are the tweakers, who are likely to be on show during Thursday’s game.
Chopra also said that two boundaries will be hit in the first two overs of the encounter in Dubai. ”Two boundaries in the first 10 balls,” Chopra quipped.
Last, but not the least, he predicted CSK to make a comeback and win the game after back-to-back losses at the hands of Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. ”Chennai to win the match,” he added.
Chopra also had a few words to say about the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. He was clear cut in saying that Eoin Morgan’s KKR are firm favourites to win the game. ”Kolkata to win the match,” Chopra said.
The Royals lost their previous game to Mumbai Indians by eight wickets with 70 balls left in MI’s run-chase. The Knights, on the other hand, beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous match in Dubai.
