Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has put forth his predictions for the upcoming IPL 2021 match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday, October 5 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Both teams are precariously placed in the second-half of the points table and need a win desperately to climb their way up and get into the top four at the earliest.
MI, the defending champions, have lost four out of their last five matches and are placed at seventh above cellar dwellers Sunrisers Hyderabad. In their previous game, Rohit Sharma and Co. lost to the Delhi Capitals by four wickets in Sharjah itself. The Royals, on the other hand, are at sixth, but they must have got some confidence after beating the Chennai Super Kings.
Aakash Chopra shares his opinions
For the upcoming game, Chopra reckoned that Jasprit Bumrah will be the most economical bowler. “Bumrah to be the most economical bowler of the match,” Chopra was quoted as saying on his official YouTube channel.
Chopra also said that the two skippers, Rohit Sharma and Sanju Samson, will score a combined tally of above 60 runs. “Rohit and Samson to score 60 plus runs,” he stated.
Although Sharjah hasn’t been an overly high-scoring venue, Chopra said that the upcoming game will witness more than half-a-dozen sixes. “Six plus sixes to be hit in the match,” Chopra said.
Last, but not the least, Chopra predicted Rohit’s men to come out trumps in Tuesday’s match. “Mumbai to win the match,” he added. In their previous meeting, MI won by seven wickets after Quinton de Kock scored a 50-ball 70, helping his team chase down 172 with nine balls to spare.
The team, which loses the next game won’t be out of the competition. However, it will have to depend on few other results to qualify for the playoffs. Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are the other teams, who are vying for a place in the next round.
If KKR beat the Royals in their next game, PBKS will be knocked out. But with two games remaining apiece, MI and RR still have a great chance to make it to the playoffs.
