The hitman has risen through the ranks over the years starting from the 2009 IPL season where he was the emerging player of the season. But now he is not the young lad trying to put his name in world cricket.

He is one of the most dangerous openers in T20 cricket. He has won MI 5 titles as captain but his batting prowess is not to be ignored. He has played through many batting positions for his team but opening suits him best.

Last few seasons have not been the best for him but his potential is a serious threat for other teams. Last season’s just a couple of his knocks including the one in the final are enough for him to be in the best Indian 11 of the 2021 season.

2) KL Rahul

The Punjab Kings’ captain KL Rahul was the orange cap holder last season. He played well in almost every game but to carry his entire team alone proved to be too much.

His authoritative stroke play combined with fancy shots make him a complete t20 player. He is also the 2nd ranked T20 International player currently. His ability to covert starts into big ones is what makes him unique.

He scored 670 runs last season at an average of 55.83. He definitely starts as one of the openers in our best Indian 11 and would be expected to fetch maiden IPL title for his franchise in 2021 season.

3) Virat Kohli

The run machine suits as the best batsman for the number 3 position. He might not have an IPL trophy in his bag but his batting is thunderous.

He is the highest run getter in the history of the IPL with runs in excess of 5000. After that exceptional 2016 season King Kohli’s performances have been called “average” by experts despite him scoring 400+ in each of those seasons.

Now that describes his stature in the IPL. His consistency is unmatched and is a part of best XI in this list. Roping in of some new stars in the current auction might help them inch close to IPL trophy

4) Shreyas Iyer

Iyer was Delhi’s captain last season and was in the top 5 run scorers of the season. He played exceptionally well and was stable through the tournament.

He might still not be sure about his number 4 position in India’s international T20 team but not here. His ability to hit big sixes and rotate the strike through the middle overs are the assets of his game.

Bhuvi’s career is going through a bit of a rough patch owing to injuries. Although once he comes back, there’s no stopping him. He has won 2 purple caps in the IPL and is the only Indian bowler to do so.

He is SRH’s go to bowler in crunch situations and bowls very economically. He can bowl both in the powerplay and the death, a skill which is unique.

He is also sometimes a handy lower order batsman, giving support to the finishers. Thus Bhuvi is a part of the pace attack of this Indian 11 without any doubts.
