On a Head-to-Head count in the history of IPL of these two sides, the Kings are the superior side, having won 15 to Capitals’ 12 in 27 IPL meetings.
In IPL 2020, both sides won one game against each other when they clashed in the league stage. The first game ended up in a tie, and Delhi Capitals registered a thrilling win in a Super Over. In the second encounter, PBKS successfully chased down a 165-run target in 19 overs. Shikhar Dhawan’s magnificent century for DC went in vain as his team’s bowlers could not defend the total.
The former India cricketer and the CricTracker expert Reema Malhotra, however, reckons that the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals will be able to take an edge over Mayank Agarwal and his men in this encounter and will record their sixth victory of the season.
I am reversing my prediction choice: Reema Malhotra
Speaking at CricTracker’s live show ‘In The Air’, Malhotra jokingly said she would want to go with Punjab Kings because only one of her predictions has gone right thus far. While four have turned opposite. “It is hard to pick any team in this tournament. Who could have thought Kieron Pollard would play that kind of a knock against CSK. Anyway, four out of five predictions I have made have gone opposite, so I am actually going with Punjab Kings tonight because I want Delhi Capitals to win. I always root for the Capitals and they are my choice, but I predict Kings to win”.
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings are without their skipper in tonight’s game as he has developed sudden abdominal pain and has been subsequently hospitalized. Mayank Agarwal is leading the side and informed about bringing in Dawid Malan for Nicholas Pooran.
