Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns with Punjab Kings for match 37 of the Indian Premier League. After having won the toss, Hyderabad elected to field first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Hyderabad punched above their weights and has been instrumental in clinching frequent wickets. However, what has grabbed the attention of many is the stunning catch by the substitute fielder Jagadeesha Suchith.
The Punjab Kings’ openers provided the team with a splendid start in their match against the Rajasthan Royals. Thus, it was important for Hyderabad to scalp early wickets. Jason Holder took the mantle for the team to dominate the proceedings. He removed both captain KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal early on. Holder then struck with another wicket to dismiss Deepak Hooda.
Suchith’s athleticism on show
Holder bowled a full-length delivery and Hooda looked to play it in a similar way as he played to Samad in the previous over. He attempted to play a lofted drive over the covers off Holder’s delivery that was bowled outside the off-stump. However, the batter couldn’t clear the fielder as Suchith leaped towards his left to complete a stunner one-handed catch.
Deepak Hooda would have been lethal in the death overs and thus his wicket came in as a huge sigh of relief for Hyderabad who had dominated the game. It wasn’t Suchith’s first catch, he earlier also grabbed the catch off Holder’s delivery as KL Rahul walked back to the hut.
Holder had bowled a full-length delivery which Rahul looked to flick through mid-wicket. The connection wasn’t quite good as Suchith who was present at the mid-wicket made no mistake.

Both Punjab and Hyderabad are at the bottom of the points table. Sunrisers Hyderabad is languishing at the bottom having won just a single game from the eight that they have played so far. Punjab, on the other hand, is placed at the seventh spot of the points table with three victories. The team was in a good position in their last match against Rajasthan Royals.
The Kings’ openers had provided the team with a flying start and the team needed just four runs off the final over. But Rajasthan’s young pacer, Kartik Tyagi displayed his fiefdom and defended the runs as RR won a thriller.
