IPL 2021: Kartik Tyagi thanks his 'hero' Jasprit Bumrah for recognizing his efforts against PBKS

The 32^nd match between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings turned out to be a deadly affair when some of the most unexpected things started unfolding towards the end. While PBKS were off to a flying start, the way they got choked towards the end remains to be a mystery. Talking for Rajasthan, young pacer Kartik Tyagi turned out to be their hero who defended just four runs in the last over.

Tyagi was tasked with the final over by skipper Sanju Samson while Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran were on the crease. The way the young bowler maintained his calm was a thing to notice and his act even pushed ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah to pour some words of appreciation. As Tyagi defended just four runs in the last over and received the player of the match award, Bumrah stepped in to laud him.

“What an over, #KartikTyagi! To maintain a cool head under that kind of pressure and to get the job done, great stuff, very impressive! #PBKSvRR #IPL2021,” wrote Jasprit Bumrah for Tyagi.

Young Tyagi, who was way impressed by the pacer’s gesture went on to add that Bumrah is his hero and these words definitely mean a lot to him. It is a known fact that Bumrah’s dominance is clear cut across the world and gets manifold when it comes to death overs bowling and to some extent, Tyagi did the same job.

Talking about the match, the Royals displayed a great batting show to post 185 runs on the board. However, innings from Punjab openers KL Rahul (49 off 33) and Mayank Agarwal (67 off 43) were robust enough to put PBKS on the front foot. However, as the caravan went forward, what happened towards the end can only be explained by Rahul and his men.

While they needed just eight runs in the last two overs, probably fans got to see the biggest choke and they lost the game by two runs wherein young Tyagi turned out to be the perfect hero.
