IPL 2021: Kieron Pollard gives 'Mankading' warning to Shikhar Dhawan in DC vs MI clash

Mankading has always been a matter of debate in the cricketing world. Many former and current cricketers have offered their opinion on whether it is actually in the spirit of the game or not, and the topic has been one of intense scrutiny.
And, in the match between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) that took place on 20th April 2021, Kieron Pollard was seen handing out a warning to Shikhar Dhawan as he was backing up too much.
The incident took place during the 10th over of the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) innings. Pollard stopped his bowling action and was seen gesturing to Shikhar Dhawan to return back to the crease.

Amit Mishra’s excellent spell with the ball allowed the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) to comfortably beat five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 13th match of the 2021 edition of the IPL. The 38-year-old IPL veteran scalped 4 wickets in the 4 overs that he bowled, and gave away runs at an economy rate of just 6 runs per over, and helped his side restrict the Mumbai Indians (MI) to a total of 137/9. Apart from Mishra, Avesh Khan also scalped a couple of wickets as well.
On the batting front, it was Shikhar Dhawan who spearheaded the run chase for the Delhi outfit. Opening the batting, the 35-year-old scored a patient 45 off 42 deliveries to help his side go past the target with 6 wickets and 5 balls to spare. Apart from Dhawan, Steve Smith and Lalit Yadav contributed 33 and 22 respectively. And, Amit Mishra was awarded the Player of the Match award for his exemplary performance with the ball in hand.
The Delhi Capitals have started their 2021 IPL campaign in excellent fashion, and are now placed at 2nd place in the points table after registering 3 wins from 4 IPL matches this season. On the other hand, the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are occupying 4th place in the points table after registering 2 wins in 4 matches this season.
