The sixteenth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) is currently in progress at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Winning the toss, the Royal Challengers’ skipper Virat Kohli opted to field, backing his team and himself to chase any target down. Also, the venue has favored chasing teams more often.
On a Head-to-Head count in the history of IPL of these two sides, both sides stand at an even footing, with 10 wins each against each other in 23 meetings, three being no result However, former India cricketer, coach, and the CricTracker expert Lalchand Rajput reckons that the Virat Kohli-led Challengers will be able to take an edge over Sanju Samson and his men in this encounter and register their fourth consecutive win of the season.
Speaking at CricTracker’s live show ‘In The Air’, Rajput reckoned that he would pick Royal Challengers Bangalore over Royals also because they have won the toss, which gives them an advantage at this venue. He mentioned the likes of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers being in good form, which can make chasing easier for RCB. “I think the toss makes a lot of difference. So RCB has the edge today.”
However, the former India player also said that he feels it is the Royals’ skipper’s night and he might fire after three quiet games. “I think it will be Sanju Samson’s day. If he can get a big score, a big hundred, and if Rajasthan can take the score over 200, then the game will be very much on.”, he said.
