Delhi Capitals are all set to battle it out against Rajasthan Royals in the Match 36 of the Indian Premier League. Delhi had a splendid run in the first half of the IPL and they continued their dominance in the UAE leg as well. The team exuded great character to register a thumping victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets.
Delhi thus reclaimed its top spot in the points table. If they manage to secure a win in this match against Rajasthan, they will almost confirm their play-offs qualification. The Rishabh Pant-led side will look forward to taking the winning streak further and dominate the opposition. The team is unlikely to make any changes in the side and are expected to take the charge of the field with the same winning combination.
Here’s the Delhi Capitals Predicted XI for the DC vs RR Match:
Openers- Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw
In Delhi’s first match against Hyderabad, it appeared as if Dhawan started from where he left it in the first half of the league. He played impressive innings of 42 runs, which included as many as six fours and a six. Dhawan would be keen to take the momentum further for his team.
Whilst his knock, Dhawan also passed the mark of 400 runs in a season for the eighth time in his IPL career. Delhi did experience a brief hiccup as Shaw departed early on, but the batter has been a pivotal aspect of the team and will look forward to providing the team with a steady start alongside Dhawan.
Middle-order- Shimron Hetmyer, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant
Shikhar Dhawan walked back to the pavilion when he tried to slog-sweep Rashid Khan over the square leg region. After that, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant took the mantle to hold the fort of the side. Pant initially took time to set his innings and then brought up the attacking game to the fore.
Iyer on the other hand anchored the innings well by maintaining the required run rate. Both Iyer (47*) and Pant (35*) sailed the team to victory and their contribution in the middle order is a crucial factor for Delhi. Shimron Hetmyer, on the other hand, has the ability to hit the ball hard and fetch in quick runs for the side.
All-rounders- Axar Patel, Marcus Stoinis
Axar Patel strengthened the team’s position in the match against Hyderabad. He scalped the prized wicket of Kane Williamson. Further, he also sent Jason Holder back to the hut with a full-length delivery bowled slightly wide of the off stump.
Patel also comes in pretty handy with the bat. The Australian all-rounder Stoinis, on the other hand, provides depth to the team’s line-up. His power-hitting abilities and also the reliability to provide needed breakthroughs to the team at times makes him an important player on the side.
Bowlers- Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan
Delhi’s bowlers have fanned the fires of the team’s success over the last two years. They have been instrumental in allowing the team to march their drum of dominance in the tournament. Anrich Nortje displayed his fiefdom and bowled with impressive speed and control against Hyderabad. He picked up the crucial wicket of David Warner and then Kedar Jadhav.
The South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has been the team’s go-to man. He clinched three wickets in the previous match which enabled the team to restrict Hyderabad to a low total. Ravichandran Ashwin and Avesh Khan are also the key players of the side and have the potential to change the scripts of the game anytime around
