IPL 2021: MS Dhoni smacks sixes all over the park in the training session
MS Dhoni might be playing his last season in the IPL 2021.
MS Dhoni retired from international cricket last year just before the IPL. It was speculated that the former Indian captain might call it quits from all forms of cricket after the season. However, he surprised many critics by revealing that he would be returning for another season. With the IPL 2021 set to start on April 9, MSD has reached Chennai and started training for the season.
Chennai Super Kings have been quite active in the social media space with their videos and other types of content. In one of their latest tweets, they uploaded a video in which the CSK skipper can be seen practicing in the nets and trying to hit big sixes down the ground.
In the 2020 season, CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs, which was the first time since the league started. The franchise finished seventh on the points table with only six wins to their name. It seems that this season, they want to be more prepared and ready. Dhoni arrived in Chennai just a few days back to start early training.

In the video which was uploaded by CSK on their official Twitter handle. The caption on the video was, “Mahi way all the way!!! on #Thala #WhistlePodu #Yellove.”
Dhoni was seen knocking around and trying to hit in front of the bowlers while practicing. Eventually, he was seen in his beast mode where he was hitting the ball long and one of the hits even went to the stands. The practice was going on in the mid-pitch of the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
MS Dhoni personally didn’t have a great IPL 2020. He struggled to find his rhythm and couldn’t play any memorable knock. He made 200 runs in the 14 matches, with an average of 25. His strike rate was 116. This was a sudden low after Dhoni had two of the best seasons with the bat in 2019 and 2018 since CSK returned to the IPL.
In 2018, he had scored 455 runs at an average of 75.83 and a strike rate of 150.66. In 2019, he ended with a season tally of 416 runs with an average of 83.20 and a strike rate of 134.62. For his team to bounce back and prove a point, Dhoni’s form will be crucial.
