The criticism on Manish Pandey continues to increase with every passing match that the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side plays. The right-handed batsman has been in the eye of the storm for his inability to get going with the willow. The Sunrisers Hyderabad side has now lost all the 3 matches that they have played in the 14th IPL edition thus far.
And, in the encounter against the Mumbai Indians (MI) on 17th April 2021, Pandey failed to impress. In his stay in the middle that lasted 7 deliveries, the SRH batsman managed to score just 2 runs. And now, former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha has offered his opinion regarding Pandey’s form.
Ojha stated that the Hyderabad outfit needs someone like Kedar Jadhav in their side. Ojha also opined that Manish Pandey needs to take a break for a couple of games as it will be helpful for him.
“You need someone like Kedar Jadhav. If you see that middle-order, it did not carry forward the hard work done by David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. For someone like Manish Pandey, it will be good for him if he gets a couple of games break. At times, it really helps,” said Ojha in a chat with Sports Today.
“SRH can look in for Kedar Jadhav who can deliver,” says Pragyan Ojha
Ojha further added that Kedar Jadhav is someone who can deliver for the side. The 34-year-old also opined that Jadhav can lend some stability to the SRH batting lineup.
“Maybe they can look in for Kedar Jadhav who can deliver because I think they have a few more games in Chennai. He can deliver some handy off-spin and give some stability in the batting,” said Ojha.
Ojha even said that people who are watching can find out that Manish Pandey is not delivering for the side. Adding that No.3 is a very crucial position, Ojha concluded by stating that sometimes it is better for a player to take a break for a couple of games.
“No. 3, it is a very crucial position. He has to deliver. Match after match, the pressure mounts. People who are watching can make out that Manish Pandey is not delivering. At times, it is important that you take a backseat, take a couple of games break and then think about your game. When you’re playing continuously and you’re not doing well, you might not know what is happening and what is not. You need to take a pause,” concluded Ojha.
