IPL 2021: Ranking all 8 teams based on Indian players’ strength
Dark clouds are looming over the participation of foreign players when IPL 2021 resumes.
5. Royal Challengers Bangalore
The Virat Kohli-led side would have been one of the most disappointed teams when the tournament was called off. Having won five of their first seven games, RCB needed just three wins from their remaining seven games to confirm their place in the playoffs. However, their stellar campaign took an unfortunate pause.
Now, continuing their sensational run would be difficult for RCB if foreign stars don’t participate in the rest of the season. While AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell were constantly traumatizing bowlers in the death overs, New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson was effective with the ball. Hence, the Bangalore-based side would not want to lose their services.
Nevertheless, they still have a formidable contingent of Indian players which can take RCB a long way. Skipper Virat Kohli doesn’t require any introduction, while Devdutt Padikkal scored a hundred earlier this season. The bowling attack also looks quite balanced with Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Washington Sundar in the team.
