Things are heating up in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 even as the race to make it to the playoffs is getting close. If the game between RCB and MI had players losing their temper on occasions, something of that sorts was on display during the match between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah. Ravi Ashwin was at the center of all the happenings as he didn’t like Tim Southee having a go at him.
It all happened in the first ball of the 20th over of DC’s innings which Southee was bowling. Ashwin was the man on strike who pulled the slow, short ball down the throat of Nitish Rana at the deep square leg. Soon after the catch was completed, Southee gave a mouthful to Ashwin which the latter didn’t like at all.
It was probably about the extra run the DC batters, Ravi Ashwin and Rishabh Pant, stole off the last ball of the 19th over. While it was a sloppy fielding on the part of KKR, it just seemed a bit of a send-off from Southee to the batter which Ashwin was not happy with and like he always does, gave it back to the bowler.
This is where things heated up as the KKR skipper Eoin Morgan got into the action as he said something to Ashwin. The Indian off-spinner was animated in the middle and started walking towards Morgan to have a discussion but Dinesh Karthik sorted things out quickly stopping Ashwin from making things more complicated.

Delhi Capitals crawl to 127 on a slow pitch
After being put in to bat first, the Capitals have managed to somehow post 127 runs on the board in their 20 overs. Only Rishabh Pant and Steve Smith, who replaced Prithvi Shaw in the game, spent time out in the middle scoring 39 runs each. Apart from them, only Shikhar Dhawan reached the double figures with the left-hander scoring 24 runs.
The Capitals couldn’t hit a single six in their innings but smacked 14 fours. KKR bowled well with Lockie Ferguson, Venkatesh Iyer and Sunil Narine picking two wickets each while Southee scalped one.
