IPL 2021: RCB legend AB de Villiers lands in the UAE for the second leg of the tournament

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) mainstay and cricketing megastar Ab de Villiers has joined the RCB camp for the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that will commence on 19th September 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

AB de Villiers took to Instagram to confirm that he has landed in the UAE. He also stated that the Emirates staff behaved in a friendly way and he also received an amazing welcome at the airport.

The batting maestro also stated that he had a pleasant trip to the UAE, and is now looking forward to an exciting 6 weeks in the IPL.

“From the friendly emirates staff to the amazing welcome at the jathersort, all in all a very pleasant trip to the UAE. Exciting 6 weeks ahead. And not a bad view from our room,” commented de Villiers in an Instagram post.

AB de Villiers is one of the all-time IPL greats

AB de Villiers will qualify as one of the greatest willow wielders in the history of IPL cricket. The 37-year-old cricketing colossus is the 6th highest run-scorer in the IPL and has plundered 5056 runs at an average of 40.77 and a whopping strike rate of 152.38.

The right-handed batting legend has also scored 40 fifties and 3 hundreds in IPL cricket as well. AB de Villiers was in good form in the first half of the 2021 edition of the IPL as well.

In the 6 innings that he played, de Villiers scored 207 runs at an average of 51.75 and a strike rate of 164.29. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side is currently placed at 3rd place in the points table and has emerged triumphant in 5 out of the 7 matches that they have played in the tournament thus far.

Virat Kohli and his men will play their first match of the second leg of the IPL on 20th September 2021 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) outfit in Abu Dhabi.
