IPL 2021: Rishabh Pant hits a sensational one-handed six off Shardul Thakur
The single-handed six went 86 metre far.
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is closing in on its climax. The top two teams, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals, locked horns in the first qualifier in Dubai on Sunday. Some of the top T20 players are in action in this game and no wonder, runs are flowing from the bat on a fairly decent pitch on offer in the middle.
However, batting first, the Capitals found themselves in trouble in the first half of the game losing four wickets including that of Prithvi Shaw who was batting well. Rishabh Pant then came in and had to drop anchor to start with in his innings. As the innings went deep, the left-hander starting opening up looking for quick runs to help his side get to a commendable total.
And in the process, the Capitals skipper played an outrageous shot off Shardul Thakur hitting a single-handed six in the 16th over of the innings. Thakur ran in to bowl and delivered a wobbly slower full toss which dipped a bit till it reached the batsman. Rishabh Pant gave it a real whack and left one hand off the bat.
But the power on it was immense and the ball travelled over the mid-wicket boundary for a huge six. It was an 86-metre maximum and it left everyone in Pant’s awe.
