IPL 2021: Sandstorm delays toss in RCB vs CSK game
Match was supposed to get underway at 7:30 but there will be a delay now.
The second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going on in full flow in the UAE currently. Dubai and Abu Dhabi hosted a few matches to start with and Sharjah was set to host its first game on Friday. It was a blockbuster encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and with short boundaries on offer along with the superstars on show, the fans were eagerly waiting for the encounter.
However, climate in Sharjah played its part as start of play could be delayed now. For now, the toss has been delayed in Sharjah due to sandstorm. All the concerned people were in the middle and set for the toss, but a sudden arrival of sandstorm at the venue delayed the proceedings.
It was an unexpected occurrence for everyone it seemed for everyone. The RCB skipper Virat Kohli took this opportunity to have a discussion with his former India skipper MS Dhoni. The two were seen involved in an intense discussion in the middle. The duo will be sharing the dressing room once again in less than a month’s time in the T20 World Cup as Dhoni has been appointed the mentor of team India for T20 World Cup.
Chance to make it to the playoffs for both RCB and CSK
As far as the points table is concerned, both RCB and CSK have a great chance to make it to the playoffs this season. CSK have won a total of six matches out of eight and are currently at the second position. To start the UAE leg, they breezed past the five-time champions Mumbai Indians which was also the opening game of the second phase of the IPL.
As for RCB, they didn’t get off to a great start to their second leg. The team was bundled out for just 92 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). RCB are currently at the third place with five wins and still have things under their control in terms of making it to the playoffs. A few wins soon will definitely help them.
