IPL 2021: Suresh Raina turns John Cena to spear CSK teammate KM Asif
The likes of Krishnappa Gowtham and Shikhar Dhawan also reacted to the clip.
The second leg of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is around the corner and all teams are gearing up to thrive. The gala T20 tournament resumes on September 19 with all the remaining matches taking place in the United Arab Emirates. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are indeed one of the teams to watch out for in the competition as they were on a roll in the first half.
With five wins in seven games, the MS Dhoni-led side was second in the team standings at the time of season suspension. Hence, the three-time champions would be determined to extend their purple patch in the Arab nation as well. Notably, CSK have landed in UAE and their preparations are already underway. The atmosphere in their camp is certainly lively and that is evident in Suresh Raina’s latest video on Twitter.
The left-handed batsman had some fun with pacer KM Asif in the pool and their antics have gone viral. In the clip, Raina recreated WWE superstar John Cena’s trademark move and speared Asif into the pool. “That is name is John Cena, My name is Suresh Raina @asif_km_24 #funtime #postpractice #instagood,” read the caption of the post.
As mentioned above, the clip went viral in no time and the comment section also flooded in a jiffy. The likes of Krishnappa Gowtham and Shikhar Dhawan also found the clip entertaining and they fired laughing emojis in the comments box.
Suresh Raina was in decent touch in the first leg of IPL 2021
Meanwhile, Raina, who skipped IPL 2020 citing personal reasons, was in decent touch in the first half of this year’s tournament. In seven outings, he slammed 123 runs including a match-winning half-century. Hence, CSK will have high hopes from the former Indian cricketer and Raina would also be itching to take the side to the fourth title.
Notably, CSK need just three wins in their remaining seven league-stage games to secure a place in the playoffs without in hassle. They’ll resume their campaign against arch-rivals and defending champions Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Although the Men in Yellow haven’t done much wrong this year, it must be noted that they suffered a horrendous campaign in last year’s IPL which also took place in UAE. Hence, MS Dhoni and his men have a point to prove.
