Weaknesses – Inexperienced fast-bowling unit
The Royal Challengers Bangalore do not have much experience in their fast-bowling attack. While most players play T20 cricket regularly, their IPL experience is not the same as the other fast-bowling units in the competition. Kyle Jamieson, who is the most expensive overseas player of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021, has never played a T20 game in India.
Kane Richardson has been away from the IPL for quite some time, whereas Mohammed Siraj had been very expensive when bowling on Indian tracks. Navdeep Saini had a forgettable IPL season in the United Arab Emirates last year. Meanwhile, Dan Christian and Daniel Sams also have not played much in the IPL.
Thus, the lack of an established name in the fast-bowling attack could cost the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Virat Kohli will have to make the best use of his pace-bowling lineup to ensure Bangalore betters its IPL 2020 performance. On paper, RCB’s fast-bowling line-up looks a bit weaker compared to the other teams.
