6. Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings had their worst season of all-time in the 2020 edition of the IPL. However, this didn’t mean that they went into a total revamp. The three-time champions kept most of their core team and added just a few players in the IPL auction. MS Dhoni, who might just be playing his last season, will be back to lead the team.
Suresh Raina, who missed the last season due to personal reasons, will also find his way back into the team and hopefully will provide the team with the balance which they lacked last season. Along with him, another key member of the side is Ravindra Jadeja. He will be coming out of an injury but his exploits in the last season along with performances for India have given a hint that Jadeja is a much more matured and trusted player now more than ever.
Faf du Plessis is expected to open the innings for them this year and has also been in good form in the format. He has quit playing Tests to focus on white-ball cricket, which could just bring the best out of him. Deepak Chahar is also invaluable to this team as he has been assigned to bowl with the new ball and pick quick wickets.
CSK: MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis, Deepak Chahar
