IPL 2021: Twitter slams Krunal Pandya for his over aggressive reactions on the field

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season is not going according to plans for the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI). They have played five matches and have lost three of them including their loss against Punjab Kings on April 23. One of the main reasons for their poor show so far has been their batting. The defending champions are yet to cross the 160-run mark this season.

With the likes of Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan forming the top four of the team, MI are certainly expected to do well. However, the problem lies somewhere else. It is the non-performance of their trio of Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard which is hurting them the most. Hardik hasn’t been at his best with the bat while him not bowling is affecting the balance of the side as well.

Pollard has shown only glimpses of his form while the biggest disappointment has been Krunal Pandya who hasn’t delivered at all. The left-handed all-rounder made his ODI debut in the series against England last month and did well. But he hasn’t been able to carry that form into IPL. So far in five innings, Krunal has mustered only 29 runs at an average of 7.25 and his strike-rate of 107.40 isn’t suffice as well.

Krunal Pandya has also picked only three wickets while bowling on surfaces which are assisting the spinners right through from the first match of the season. In 16 overs he has bowled this season, the left-arm spinner has conceded 116 runs and has picked wickets at an average of 38.66.

Krunal’s unnecessary aggressive reactions take centre stage

Like his younger brother, Krunal Pandya is always keen on giving his 100% on the field for his team. But at the moment, things are not going as expected for him and it is visible in his aggressive reactions on the field. A lot of times, it was seen in the last couple of matches that he was getting angry on the fielders when there was no chance that the ball could be stopped.

He was seen screaming unnecessarily at times and it has certainly not impressed the fans. While some have slammed Krunal for his behaviour, few have turned him into a meme material trolling him.
