IPL 2021: Virat Kohli checks on Rohit Sharma after RCB vs MI game; fans troll 'rift' reports

It was a clash of superstars on Sunday evening with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) facing the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Both the teams had lost their previous two matches and needed to put their best effort in the middle. RCB did just that to thump MI by 54 runs and bring their campaign on track.

With this being a crucial game, tempers flared on occasions but after the match, it was all smiles as the players from both the sides were seen chatting to each other. However, the moment when the RCB skipper Virat Kohli went over to check on his counterpart MI skipper Rohit Sharma was the best one.

Rohit got hit on the hand while batting in the middle with Ishan Kishan hitting one straight back at his captain. Rohit Sharma was in pain after the blow and also, soon got out after which MI collapsed in the chase. After being dismissed, the 34-year-old was seen wearing something in hands to get relief from the pain.

Understandably, a worried Kohli walked to the India vice-captain in limited-overs format and the two shared a few light moments. The picture of them smiling while looking at each other and having a chat went viral on social media as the fan drooled over it.

Clear rift, say fans on Twitter trolling the reports

Reports of rifts between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli always do the rounds. However, if the recent instances are any indication, two of India’s most important players in this generation are clearly enjoying each other’s company. Even in England, during the Test series, they were seen hugging each other after a fall of a wicket or after a win and it seems there was no rift as such between the two cricketers ever.

As much as fans loved watching Rohit and Kohli sharing a laugh, they also trolled the rift reports doing rounds on social media every now and then.
