1. Albie Morkel – 125 mtrs 

So, who has hit the longest six in the history of the cash-rich league? The answer is former all-rounder Albie Morkel. It is quite surprising given that heavyweights like MS Dhoni and Chris Gayle could not top the list. Morkel hit a 125-meter six to Pragyan Ojha back in the first edition of the cash-rich league, when he was playing for Chennai Super Kings against the Deccan Chargers.

He is the only player to cross the 125-meter mark in IPL. Morkel’s blistering knock against RCB when he hit 28 runs off an over of Virat Kohli is still alive in the memories of fans. He was a fiery all-rounder who loved to break through the shackles and hit the ball freely all around the park.

Albie Morkel was one of the best finishers CSK could ask for. He was CSK’s second most expensive pick in 2008’s auction. Morkel soon became a crucial part of the Chennai Super Kings. He usually took the new ball and donned the finisher’s role.
