IPL 2022: 10 longest sixes in the history of IPL
IPL 2022 has also witnessed a couple of towering hits from the batters
3. Adam Gilchrist – 122 mtrs
Going even higher in terms of altitude, the Dharamshala cricket ground has seen its fair share of big sixes over the past years. Aside from being beautiful, it is also heaven for the batters. The pitch is batting-friendly and therefore some of the longest sixes have been smashed here.
The Aussie legend Adam Gilchrist smashed an enormous 122-meter-long hit to Charl Langeveldt in 2011 against RCB. It is still a record by a wicket-keeper which he established when playing for the Kings XI Punjab. He was the captain of the Punjab side at that time, and the IPL fans were not surprised to see such a huge hit by their favourite wicket-keeper.
Adam Gilchrist played for two IPL teams, Kings XI Punjab and Deccan Chargers between 2008 to 2012. During his stint in the cash-rich league, he led Deccan Chargers to the title in 2009. He had a spectacular season, scoring 495 runs in 16 games, including three half-centuries.
